2022 Renovations

16TH DECEMBER

An amazing amout of work has been done on The Coach House this week. New glass doors have been installed to keep the heat and the noise in. And the floor has been levelled and new wooden flooring has been laid - looks fantastic now. The team have continued taking down the scaffolding and repairing the brick work too.

9TH DECEMBER

The roofers have been back on the roof finishing of the repairs to the slates. And the brickies have been doing more re-pointing work to the brickwork. Next week should see the removal of more of the scaffolding.

1ST DECEMBER

The professional contract team have been back in and have been doing a lot of re-pointing and re-painting. The signs are visible and really positive. At this rate, we hope to remove another layer of the scaffolding next week!

25TH NOVEMBER

The first layer of scaffolding was removed after finishing the slate work. This was at the highest part of the building around the chimneys. Painting has been a priority all over the first and second floor, a lot of it hidden behind the scenes. Once finished, will let the rest of the scaffolding to come down.

13TH NOVEMBER

The lower floor of the Coach House started a refurbishment ... filling in holes, repainting and getting ready for floor levelling. And despite the poor weather there was work up on the roof too.

28TH JULY

The Stables have been undergoing a major refurbishment sponsored the Green Room School. The aim is to create an adaptable space for both the school and the community, plus the Windsor Cycle Hub too.

13TH MAY

The Kitchen had received a professional deep clean and it was left to the Warriors to do the final tidy up and stowing away of tools and materials before The Kichen opened.

6TH MAY

McFarlane Telfer were in again to fit the final extraction hood that was required in The Kitchen. The team alsore-organised The Dry Store to maximise its' use for both The Bar and The Kitchen.

29TH APRIL

The team sorted out The Cold Store and got that ready for the final phase of The Kitchen. Meanwhile contractors came in to fix the roofing in The Stables and add power.

8TH APRIL

This week the Warriors have proved that many hands make light work. Or, more accurately, many hands have fitted doors, trimmed, painted, secured and so much more as The Kitchen edges ever closer to completion.

Massive progress in the internal hallway, and The Kitchen, and even with The Courtyard. What a week it has been. Go on have a wee look at everything that has been going on to renovate The Swan.

25TH MARCH

The work of the Warriors continues both inside and out. Tony has been hard at work in the corridor while John prepped and painted the new Kitchen windows.

18TH MARCH

The Kitchen gets ever closer to the finish line. Sincere thanks to everyone involved with a special shout to 'young' Terry who braved the rain on Thu to sweep The Courtyard before continuing to tidy up inside. Thanks also to Simon from Windsor Joinery who delivered and installed the glass in the third and final Kitchen window.

11TH MARCH

The Warriors were a bit light this week due to holidays and other commitments. You can guess what the focus was for this week - you got it!, grouting with more grouting.

As well as that, they are finalising the corridor between The Kitchen and The Bar. Tidying up all the cables, insulating and yet more fireboarding.

4TH MARCH

Tiling and grouting still consumes a lot of time and effort in The Kitchen and supporting rooms. The door frames are getting prepared for the installation of the fire doors. And the steel beam within The Kitchen has been prepared with some very special fire retarding paint.

25TH FEBRUARY

Taking advantage of the half-term absence of GR pupils the Warriors have insulated and soundproofed the extractor which passes up from The Kitchen and through the School Room. Not wasting anytime after her return from Ghana, Lexie was soon busy applying a finishing coat of paint to the steel installed long before the tiling and grouting reached such an advanced stage of nearing completion.

18TH FEBRUARY

Inside and out The Swan is looking better and better each week. Sincere thanks to Bas who has added welcome colour to the front of the pub. Continuing thanks to our Weekday Warriors who have spent another busy week in The Kitchen. It won't be long now!!!!

11TH FEBRUARY

How many volunteers does it take to tile a wall? Kitchen tiling nearly complete (and that is a lot of tiles!) allowing our friends from McFarlane Telfer to begin the installation and commissioning of the equipment.

4TH FEBRUARY

Plastering, tiling, painting, bricking, pointing ... basically anything ending in 'ing' has been done by the Warriors this week. They can see the finishing line now and it's all hands to the pumps doing various task, large and small.

28TH JANUARY

Teamwork has been even more in evidence than usual this week as our Warriors were joined by the team from McFarlane Telfer. The equipment for the kitchen is now in the room as the final elements are prepared for final installation. In the meantime the precious equipment is being kept under wraps.

21ST JANUARY

The moisture boarding is now complete and the walls ready for tiling, plastering or painting as appropriate. The guys have been working on the windows too getting ready for their installation whch has just started. The second electical fittings is also well underway.

14TH JANUARY

The existing Kitchen equipment was given a final clean and then taken into The Kitchen ready for commissioning by McFarlane Telfer. Another electricity cable was pulled through and Keith was back beavering away. There are some picture of week 2 of 2022 of the transformation.

7TH JANUARY

A lot of progress in the back of the pub on The Kitchen, The Storeroom and The Coldroom. The guys were so busy that we didn't get that many photos of week 1 of 2022 renovations but what we have is there.
