10th September: Quiz Night

Tonight's quiz went down a storm, with a mix of questions ranging from politics to shapes – remind me again…what shaped peg won't fit into what shaped hole?! There wasn’t much in it between all the teams but We Thought It Was Speed Dating came out on top to win the bar tab and Rachel from newbies Almost All The Single Ladies picked the Jackpot in the raffle to walk away with a cool £40!

18th September: Bingo Night

We saw the welcome return of our bonkers Swan Bingo after it&39;s summer break. With 34 players packing out the bar, there was a great atmosphere as Caller Richard rattled through the balls to ensure there were small and big drink prizes galore!

And in the final Top of the Bill cash game, there was £30 up for grabs. The Bingo Gods shone on one particular table where Amanda and Lucy both won during the main three games and Jo completed the hattrick to win £20 cash for the final House of the night!

24th September: Great British Pub Awards

On Wednesday night we gathered not only for our bi-monthly quiz night but also to watch the Great British Pub Awards 2025 ceremony, livestreamed from Leeds.

Sadly this year it was not to be, but we were very pleased that the Best Community Pub crown went to Chaplin's and The Cellar Bar in Boscombe, who we had pipped to the post to win last year - the ultimate karma! And we are all enormously proud to have made the finals again, a testament to the efforts of all involved with The Swan. And we raised a glass to that!

24th September: Quiz Night

And as for the Pub Quiz, QLM gave us a real mental workout with a whole quiz based on the fact that this last week has been Cask Ale Week. The beer link was both direct and tangential at times, but certainly caused some scratching of heads! Hettie's Heroes beat Clewer Clogs by just 2 points in the end, while Keith from Relegation Battle won a Spirit and Mixer in the raffle. Our next quiz night is Weds 8th Oct - and QLM promises no more beer-y questions! Book now if you've not yet secured your table!

24th September: Good Beer Guide 2006

GOOD BEER GUIDE - WE'RE IN IT! We may have missed out on the GBPA crown but are delighted to announce that The Swan has been included in The Good Beer Guide 2026. This is the UK's best-selling beer & pub guide, CAMRA's most prestigious publication. What's more, it's the 6th consecutive year The Swan has featured in the guide. We are incredibly grateful to local Slough, Windsor and Maidenhead CAMRA members for their continued support.

26th September: Coffee Morning

Our charity coffee morning was in aid of Macmillan Cancer Support raised an amazing £359.57. Unfortunately all the cake was consumed and we ran out - a first! Thanks to all whi came along to support this fine charity.

A huge thanks to our volunteers, especially Richard and Dawn, who are instrumental for this activity.

27th September: Windsor Cycle Hub

A lovely, well attended, early autumn Level 4 ride through Upton Court, Ditton, Langley & Black Parks to Burnham Beeches. Then back to The Swan for some OktoberFest fun.

27th & 28th September: OktoberFest

Our Oktoberfest went down a treat, with authentic Bavarian biers, wurst and costume! And of course, our fabulous Windsor Ukulele Band rounding up a great weekend despite the rather miserable turn in the weather on Sunday! A huge thank you to them and to Dawn for being Micky's volunteer kitchen porter, glass collector, table cleaner and who no-doubt wore many more hats to compliment her dirndl over the two days!

September Newsletters

Although our news page has all the newsletters, we thought it might be easier to access this month's ones from here.
