Events: April, 2025

Here is a round-up of the events at The Swan during April, 2025.

9th April: Quiz Night

With Quiz Lord Martin away, Anne stepped up (or rather sat down!) to deliver his latest quiz this week. With a number of new teams, it was great also to see a number of old timers return after a week or two absence. Patrick's Posse were the runaway winners and Eilidhe, from newcomers Team Alicante, picked up the star prize of a packet of crisps in the raffle.

12th April: Micky and the BII

After a successful mystery visit from the judges, our General Manager Micky has made the semi-finals for Licensee of the Year! He now stands alongside another 12 fantastic pubs across the UK to battle for the finals!

The next step is an on-site interview on 24th April, where he gets to show off the pub in it's true light. Micky says 'thank you to all my amazing team and fantastic, loyal guests for supporting The Swan and helping me get this far!'

Listen out for him talking about it all live on BBC Berkshire's Erika North show this Sun 20th starting at 2pm! Good luck Micky! We will add the audio in our diaries if and when available (thanks to the BBC in advance!).

15th April: BBC Berkshire

BBC Berkshire interviewed Micky about the Green Room College and how it interacts with The Swan. An article entitled 'We get students in to run our pub' by Katie Waple was published on the BBC website.

12th April: Windsor Town Funrunners

Our friends the Windsor Town Funrunners dashed through town delivering Easter Eggs to the residents of our local care homes and Thames Hospice. Leader Grant said 'It felt so good to do this, running with a purpose. Thanks so much to all Swan customers who donated eggs, everyone we met were so appreciative'. The group meet at The Swan every Weds at 6.45pm for a friendly, social run.

17th April: Bingo Night

A small, but perfectly formed crowd enjoyed last night's Bingo, and there were prizes galore! The Bingo Gods were shining on Sheila Allan who picked up no less than 3 small and one large drink! But Sue, Colin, Manda and Katy were all winners also and Jean walked off with the Top of The Bill cash jackpot and an bottle of rose thrown in by Micky as an Easter special!

Shiela, Sue and Colin were winners in the early games.

Manda won with a House and did we mention Shiela won?, this time with a very unusual Double House in game 3.

Finally it was the 'top of the bill'. Katy won a whole £3 for a line. And Jean won the £10 full house plus a bottle of rose thrown in by Micky.
