July 2020
Here is a round-up of the events at The Swan during July, 2020.
4th July: Re-Opening Day
England was allowed to re-open her pubs after the covid-19 lockdown. There were a lot of stipulations about what could and could not happen. The Swan after review made changes to the layout, processes and procedures and decided to re-open. How the pub was run is recorded on covid-19 page which has all the salient points along with pictures and videos.
Inside was laid out to allow social distancing and to facilittate easy moment around the pub.
Outside had been cleared to maximise the sapce available, especially under the awning. The bike rack was still available although a little hidden.
Some random shots of The Courtyard to show how much it, and The Stables, have been cleaned up.
11th July: AGM 2020
Our first AGM was held in The Courtyard with over forty Bevy members in attendance. Luckily the weather was good which allowed us to set up and present a summary of the last year. We had a selection of presenters covering a range of subjects from financers, communications, the school, the bar and also taking questions.
The AGM was streamed on Facebook Live to allow other Bevy members and the wider community to watch the presentations. We have added it to our YouTube channel for posterity. Enjoy!
We also took some photos and screenshots of the event which are presented here.

20th July: 1st Anniversary
Due to covid restrictions, this was a much quieter affair than we would wanted. However, it was great to be joined by friends old and new as we raised a few glass to toast our first anniversary of trading. Helped by the good weather we have welcomed the opportunity to be back at the heart of the community.
We all knew the first year of trading would be special, we never guessed how special. It is a testament to all those involved in the pub, the school and the community on how we have progressed and especially got through the recent strange times.
For now, social distancing and drinking outside in the fresh air is the norm. Fist bumping instead of handshakes, and the use of masks make it all a little surreal at times. The pub continues to publish and update the covid guidelines to help you, the staff and the volunteers be safe.
