September 2019
Here is a round-up of the events at The Swan during September, 2019.
8th Sept: Alex Loveless
Alex successfully took on Day 2 of The Thames Path Challenge on behalf of The Swan via The Green Room charity. This was a sponsored 50 km (31 mile!) race along the Thames tow path from Runnymede to Henley. He raised over £800. He has a Just Giving page if you are interesteded in donating.
10th Sept: Wire Stripping
We had an early evening of stipping with some of the regular volunteers. They worked away stripping and chatting until it wa dark and a little cold. Some drinks were consumed and the stories got wilder and wilder.
Started small and in daylight
The chatting continued
And continued
And more turned up ...
The cold didn't stop them
Darkness didn't stop them

15th Sept: Clothes Swap
Swishing at The Swan: Summer Clothes Swap
The inaugral Swish was held and raised money for the renovation funds. There was an excellent range of tops, blouses, dresses and shoes available. People had brought them along and participated in the swap for a small donation. Rather than send the remainder to charity, we will be organising another Swish and present them there. If still unsold, then they will go to charity. Thanks to all who participated.

28th Sept: Windsor Fringe
From the Fringe brooklet ...
The Swan was closed for nearly three years, but with significant community support and involvement by Willie Calvert of the local Windsor and Eton Brewery, and a really energetic team, The Swan has been reclaimed for the community : somewhere for meeting friends, for good food from local produce, or simply to have a drink. It is also somewhere for young people with additional needs to learn useful life skills through work experience.
Windsor Artists are supporting the Swan. All the artists exhibiting in the pub over the weekend will donate 20% of proceeds from art sales to the great projects run by the Swan.
Our artists were: Alex Loveless, Aurora Spain, Genine Rainsborough and Paul Barfoot. Thanks to all who participated and to the volunteers for the BBQ and Brunch.
