February 2026
Here is a round-up of the events at The Swan during February, 2026.
10th February: Cask Marque
We are delighted to have been awarded the beer industry's prestigious Cask Marque Award. This independent award is given to pubs serving consistently great cask ales and is the result of a detailed assessment of our cellar, lines, and even our glassware. Congratulations to Micky, Michael and the bar team for this well-deserved recognition of the hard work they put into assuring your pint at The Swan is always of consistently high quality.
11th February: Quiz Night
Tonight's Quiz Night saw Hettie's Heroes narrowly clinching the prize after another nail-biting tie breaker with Patrick's Posse and, in a quirk of fate, Sue from the Heroes also went on to win a spirit and mixer in the raffle. When Two Became Swan were delighted to scoop the coveted Jammie Dodgers again!
12th February: Epic Thursday
The GR students were fundraising for the mental health Charity Mind at Epic Thursday. It was a brilliant day and quite busy despite the rain! Customers enjoyed a raffle, delicious food and coffees, and were able to purchase tasty bakes, beautiful flowers and items from our shop. We want to say a massive thank you to everyone who came along and contributed, and to all our students for working so hard.
19th February: Bingo Night
Tonight's Bingo Night was one of the biggest ever, with plenty of small and large drink prizes and a stonking £41 in Top of The Bill cash round. The Bingo Gods smiled on Lucky Lisa who did the double.

23rd February: Investor's Meeting
Over 30 shareholders and loanees attended a meeting for Community Investors in the Swan Clewer CIC. They heard from former Community Director Hollie Harrison about changes to the management and governance structure of the CIC and a plan to broaden the volunteer base at the pub. Director Willie Calvert gave an update on the financial position and strategic direction of the CIC, outlining the priorities for the continued renovation of the site. Full minutes will be available soon (sorry no pics).
25th February: Quiz Night
It was another great Quiz Night with new teams and challenging new round themes. Desperados came out on top for the first time in a while, and When Two Become Swan were distraught at being knocked off the bottom spot by newcomers She Sweats, She Wins, who scooped the Jammie Dodgers! And would you believe it, Sue won the raffle for the second time running, picking the Jackpot envelope and walking off with £20!
27th February: Coffee Morning
At the February Coffee Morning itself we raised over £400 for our own worthy cause, The Swan Renovation Fund. Thank you so much to everyone who came along, donated cakes and gave so generously.
27th February: 2026 Charity Selection
February's Coffee Morning saw the culmination of the 2026 Community Charities process, when we held the draw for the selection of six local causes who will each benefit from funds raised at one of our Coffee Mornings over the next year. The six lucky charities are:
