November 2019

Here is a round-up of the events at The Swan during November, 2019.

4th Nov: Macmillan Coffee AM

A bit late but we still wanted to help Macmillan through our own wee coffee morning. We were delighted to host nearly forty other like minded people who helped the community raise £76. This was our first charity event and given the suecess, we plan to hold more.

The actual Macmillan events was several weeks before ours. Apologies but we didn't realise and getting it all organised took a wee bit longer than planned. Thanks to Rachel who was our host and did a lot of the organising. Also to Matt and the bar team who opened up early and had a very long day

From this we took heart that the local community actually wanted this sort of event. It's a great way to get out and meet people and also to donate to very worth charities. We will be doing more of these in the future.

5th Nov: Bonfire Night

To be honest we weren't sure whether people would come to a bonfire in The COurtyard or would prefer to go to one of the bigger, organised events at The Racecourse and the likes. We weren't disappointed as the local community wanted to spend it together, with people they know, in a safe environment.

We have loaded the video taken from the scaffolding to YouTube. This is the best way of taking in the evening and also see our Guy getting put on the bonfire. Although it was a cold evening, people had wrapped up warm and came to enjoy themselves.

It will play using YouTube technologies. Full screen mode is available.

John - our resident pyromaniac and a volunteer - was in charge of the bonfire. We think he got it spot on between entertainment and safety. And he didn't burn down The Stables either - result!
