We are delighted to announce that Steph has been appointed as The Swan’s new Bar Manager.
For many of our regulars, Steph needs little introduction. Having already been an important member of our bar team, she knows The Swan, our customers, our volunteers and our community groups inside out. Her promotion reflects both her hard work and her commitment to delivering the warm, friendly service that our customers have come to expect.
Steph brings a wealth of hospitality experience to the role. Before joining The Swan, she worked in a variety of customer-facing positions within the licensed trade, developing strong skills in pub operations, customer service and team leadership. Since arriving at The Swan, she has become a trusted member of the team, helping to ensure the pub runs smoothly while creating the welcoming atmosphere that makes people want to return again and again.
As a community-owned pub, The Swan is about far more than serving great drinks. We are proud to be an award-winning community hub, hosting more than 20 different community groups and a packed programme of activities throughout the year. From quiz nights and bingo to live music, community gatherings and SwanFest, there is always something happening here. Steph understands the unique role The Swan plays in Clewer and is passionate about helping the pub continue to thrive at the heart of the community.
The months ahead promise to be busy and exciting. Alongside our regular quiz nights, community groups and social events, we have several popular activities coming up, including Steph’s Candle Painting evenings on 6 and 7 July, where guests can enjoy a relaxed and creative evening with all materials provided. Looking further ahead, we’ll be celebrating our Community Day and 7th Birthday in July, before welcoming everyone back for another fantastic SwanFest in August.
Following Michael’s departure to begin his new career with Kent Police, we are fortunate to be able to promote from within. This continuity ensures that the values that make The Swan special—great service, friendly faces and a strong community spirit—remain firmly in place.
Please join us in congratulating Steph on her new role. The next time you’re at the bar, be sure to say hello and wish her well.
Congratulations, Steph. We are delighted to have you leading the bar team and look forward to the next chapter of The Swan’s story together.
