What a 2 weeks we’ve had! Swanfest, live music, kids activities and charity fundraising too. And that’s just the start…

First things first…. What a Swanfest!! If you missed it, head to our socials and check out the Album from all 3 days.. I wont repeat too much of what we had over Swanfest but a huge thank you from me, personally, to all of you for the support, the smiles, the fun and laughter. Without you… it wouldn’t be possible. A special shout of to DJ Wildcat Willie. His music bingo on Sunday raised £173 for Alexander Devine Children’s Hospice. Truly wonderful, Thanks Wildcat!

So, what are we up to now then I hear you cry?
On Monday 24th, myself and Stuart have our final interview online for the Great British Pub Awards! After a successful mystery visit a couple of weeks ago, we have one more shot to sell our awesome pub. We will be online for our interview at 11.40am. Let me know if you think of anything in particular we need to raise… its our last chance before the big night on 23rd September. Can we bring it back home for the Best community pub?
We welcome back our Charity Coffee Morning on Friday 28th from 10.30am – 12.30pm. If you have been before or not… the cakes that are made by our locals are something special! Come down and support charity with coffee and cake, a perfect match.
Are you planning on going to the closing party for Windsor Races on Saturday 29th? Don’t forget where we are if you do! Windsor races and The Swan go together like Wine and Cheese! Monday night racing brings in the racers to The Swan so why not one final knees up before the big day on Saturday. Come see us and tell you friends too.
We are training up our team on Thursday 27th. We head over to the Windsor and Eton Brewery for a brewery tour to further develop the teams beer knowledge and then team meetings afterwards. With this, The pub will open at 4pm on Thursday 27th.
Alongside all of this, we have our regular groups, clubs and events too. We have over 22 community groups at The Swan, Something for everyone so lets get into what’s coming up shall we!
Every Monday – Chess Club at 7pm. All skill sets welcome. Will is an excellent teacher, if not a little competitive so he will keep you on your toes!
Game Masters Of Windsor – Warhammer Every Tuesday at 7.30pm. All welcome. Find GameMastersOfWindsor on instagram
Windsor Ukulele Band Rehearsal – Every Tuesday at 7pm. Our resident house band meet every week to touch up the ukes. In the good weather, chances are high that we will get a live performance as the rehearse out in the cowshed. Grab a wine and listen in.
WTF – Windsor Town Funrunners (I need to be careful abbreviating that eh!?) – Every Wednesday at 6.45pm for a 5k or 10k run. A well deserved pint after the run is needed!
Chatty Cafe – Every Friday 12noon – 1.30pm – Fancy a coffee and a chat? How about a Pint with some people? What ever you fancy, chatty cafe is a safe, friendly and welcoming space for everyone. Trudy and Mirella host the table so keep an eye out for them or pop your chair next to somebody else for a chat. Its that simple and wonderful!
Diary dates until the end of the year…

Much like Swanfest, we thrive on big events so lets get the planned ones in the diary shall we? You can find the above poster in both toilets at site, in the coach house and main pub.
Oktoberfest 26th and 27th September, filled with Bavarian Beer, Bratwurst and Live music From The Penny Brass, Sharks in the Water and Windsor Ukulele Band.
Dark Ale Fest 31st Oct and 1st November, Dark beer and cold nights. That’s a marriage right?
Bonfire Night 5th November, Firepit, Sparklers, Thai food and Live music with The Dutty Rascals. Always one of our favourite evenings.
December… I’ll make a whole different post on December! We have so much going on! But… for the big fans of Christmas, Breakfast with Santa is booked in again 19th December over 2 sittings, 8am – 10am OR 10.30am – 12.30pm. Booking is essential and will book out quickly.
And there we have it, a quieter couple of weeks but still plenty going on at your favourite community pub.
But, to finish… A roman walks into a bar, holds up 2 fingers and says ‘Five Beers Please’!
See you around the pub
Micky xx
